Sam Simkiss Obituary – Death: 17-year-old Sam Simkiss, of Manchester, and Cobey Pouliot, 17 died and two unidentified persons injured in a fatal car accident on Monday night.

Sam Simkiss and Cobey Pouliot, the two back seat passengers were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, while the driver and the front-seat passenger were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The four victims were Clinton High School students.

The cause of this accident is not yet clear, as authorities are yet to release a statement regarding the crash.

No preliminary investigation into the cause of the accident has been reported. More details will include the cause of the accident, the condition of the victim before the accident, and whether alcohol was involved.

Sam is survived by his parents, Jeff and Melissa Simkiss of Manchester; brother Nathan Simkiss of Manchester; maternal grandparents, Ted and Kay Miller of Manchester; paternal grandparents Richard (Linda) Simkiss of Napoleon and Celia (Pat) Treml of Ann Arbor; and aunt, Kris Miller of Northville.

Visitation And Funeral Arrangements

Visitation for Sam will be from 3-8 pm on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. The funeral service will be at 11 am on Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bridgewater with Pastor Drex Morton officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used in Sam’s honor at a later date.
