The Statistics Authority admitted that the prices of cardamom lost more than a quarter of their value during the month of February on an annual basis, as the price per kilo decreased by 25.16% to become 124.12 riyals instead of 165.84 riyals, while the prices of pumpkins decreased by 23.17%, so that the kilo was sold at 5.57 riyals instead of 165.84 riyals. The authority's data showed a decrease in the prices of 53 goods and services, with an increase of 111 other goods and services out of a total of 169 goods and services distributed into 10 groups.

With regard to food and beverages, the price of yoghurt was the highest in February, at a rate of 37.93%, followed by local frozen chicken at a rate of 34.49%.

The price of imported chicken weighing 900 grams increased by 29.44%, bringing the price of a chicken to 18.86 riyals, after it was sold at 14.57 riyals.

The prices of the local egg dish witnessed a significant increase, as its prices jumped by 28.7%, bringing the price of the dish to 22.24 riyals, compared to 17.28 riyals.

The Statistics Authority indicated that food and beverage products jumped by 6.3%, due to the increase in the prices of dairy products by 19.5%, and the increase in the prices of meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, oils and fats by 11.1%.

And she disclosed that agricultural and fishing products recorded an increase of 4.6%, affected by the increase in the prices of agricultural products by 5.5%, and the prices of fish and other fishing products by 4.9%. 4.9%, in addition to the prices of machines used for general purposes by 5.3%.
