My heart is broken over this news. I literally would not have the life I have without Gov. Steve Merrill taking a chance on me 26 years ago. A true giant and a great and good man I loved – the best natural politician I’ve ever known. NH feels lesser tonight knowing he is gone.

Steve Merrill was a brilliant political mind and his wit was unmatched. I feel lucky to have crossed paths with him, even for a short time, and learned from him. His passing is a sad loss for NH.
