Okaz Street in Taif has a story associated with the holy month of Ramadan, as it has become a destination for the residents of Taif before breaking the fast, as the street, which does not exceed 30 meters in width, witnesses great activity and heavy traffic throughout the days of Ramadan.
Okaz Street still maintains many of the customs of the people of the sectarian community, perhaps the most important of which are the customs and manifestations of Ramadan that begin immediately after the Asr prayer, and do not end except with the Maghrib call to prayer. The people of the province and visitors are keen to pass through that street during the day in Ramadan, to enjoy the Ramadan atmosphere in all its manifestations. The vendors, whose stalls are scattered on the sides of the street, sell sobia, juices, and popular Ramadan foods such as samosas and luqaimat, lahoh and other familiar foods that you can only find on Okaz Street.
Okaz Street in the city of Taif has become a meeting place for the people of the city and its visitors to shop and meet during the blessed month of Ramadan, from the period after the afternoon prayer until the time of the daily breakfast. Muhammad Al-Otaibi stated that he used to be present almost daily in Okaz Street during the month of Ramadan to enjoy the Ramadan atmosphere and buy what he needs of popular foods because they are available in one place. Khaled Al-Mutairi believes that the popular markets are always at the forefront, the purchasing movement is active in them, and they are crowded with customers. The popular market located on Okaz Street is dotted with various stalls that display Ramadan products and street vendors who stop passers-by, which increases traffic activity in the street.
