A message from Sandusky City Manager Eric Wobser:
All of us at the City of Sandusky is devastated by the sudden loss of Talon Flohr, our Community Outreach Coordinator. I first met Talon when he was driving back to Sandusky during his senior year at The Ohio State University to serve on the city’s Charter Review Commission. After just a few short meetings, I knew we needed to have Talon work in the City. Upon his graduation from college, he became our Neighborhood Outreach Coordinator. In that position, he accomplished so much and positively impacted so many residents in our city. Among many other things, he created the Sandusky Youth Commission, spearheaded the creation of a new park on Erie Boulevard, helped coordinate the renovation of Jaycee Park, and organized the opening of Sandusky’s warming and cooling shelters for those in need. Most of all, he touched and endeared himself to everyone he met. Talon loved Sandusky, and Sandusky loved Talon.
He had the rare combination of personal ambition and complete selflessness. We mourn him and will miss him dearly. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time. His life was too short but incredibly meaningful, and the City will do all we can to honor his memory. -Eric
Tal. Talon Flohr. The little brother from another mother of mine. When you saw Thomas you saw Tal. When you saw Tal you saw Thomas. The memories are endless. I don’t have it in me today to write a long paragraph. Last year I lost my best friend. It’s a pain that you can’t explain and never would I want anyone I love to feel that and unfortunately today my little brother is feeling that exact pain. Today I’m gna be the rock that Talon has been for Thomas since middle school. It’ll always be Talon for president! Fly high bud and say Hi to Deni for me if ya could.
Condolences to the Flohr family. I had Talon Flohr as a 5th-grade student and I knew then that he was a remarkable young man. His time here was too short, but his impact was great. Fly high young man.. you will be missed by many.
