The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Salami, called for the need for an immediate cease-fire between armed groups in the Libyan city of Tripoli, in order to preserve the lives of civilians.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament said in a statement today that he is following closely and with great concern the developments in the situation in the Libyan city of Tripoli, stressing the need for an immediate cease-fire in order to preserve the lives of civilians.
Al-Salami urged "armed groups to respect the sovereignty of the Libyan state and stop targeting civilians and government facilities," calling at the same time to hold accountable all those who target civilians as war crimes.
