26-year-old Gregory John Strickland suspected of fatally shooting his friend following an altercation has been indicted for the incident, police says.

Detroit Police on Tuesday say the Detroit man was charged Monday as he appeared before the 38th District Court in Eastpointe.  Strickland  was charged with first-degree murder, a life felony, using a firearm during a felony, a two-year felony, and concealing the death of an individual, a five-year felony.

Eastpointe police mounted a manhunt for Strickland after they received a report Saturday from Detroit police detectives about a located vehicle with a man’s body in the backseat. Detroit police also told their Eastpointe counterparts a man who identified himself as Strickland called them and said he had hurt his friend defending himself in the 22000 block of Firwood near Gratiot and 8 1/2 Mile.

According to court documents,  Strickland is held without bond until his next arraignment scheduled for Dec. 7th.
