Authorities say a 28-year-old female was shot dead near Spring early Monday.
The incident happened in the 5900 block of Cypresswood Green Drive, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. Precinct 4 deputies were called to the scene at 5900 block of Cypresswood Green Drive and located a female victim inside the residence suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A male suspect, who police say was in a relationship with the victim, fled the scene before the officers arrival. Preliminary investigations indicates there was a a physical altercation between the victim and the suspect involving a gun when the weapon went off. The victim’s five children, ages of 3 – 8, where found asleep inside the home.
The children have been placed under the care of the sister of the suspect. The identity of the suspect is pending until warrant for his arrest is obtained.
