Once again, leaker of classified "Pentagon" military documents Jacques Teixeira, a soldier in the Massachusetts Air National Guard, appears before the court today (Wednesday), in a hearing to decide whether he will remain in prison pending trial. Teixeira was arrested at his Massachusetts home last week under the Espionage Act and charged with the unauthorized retention and transmission of classified national defense information.

A judge ordered him to be held until a hearing, during his first appearance in federal court in Boston last Friday.

The leaker is accused of publishing top secret military documents about the Ukraine war and other major national security issues in a chat room on Discord, a social media platform.

Air Force leaders said an investigation was under way into how a single pilot accessed and released hundreds of top-secret documents. The Air Force has withdrawn the intelligence mission from the Air National Guard's 102nd Intelligence Wing on Cape Cod, where Teixeira was serving, pending further review.
