Shawn Watts Jr. Death – Cause of Death – A deadly shooting that happened in the 300 block of Grier Street claimed the life of a man police have positively identified as 24-year-old Shawn Deontae Watts Jr. The shooting that killed one and fatally injured another, the Bibb County Sheriff David Davis reported. When dispatchers got to the scene, they located Shawn shot behind a duplex on Grier Street and he was transported to the hospital where he later passed away.
The next of kin has been notified. The second victim identified as Cleveland Raines, 18, was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent and he is in stable condition. According to authorities, the Georgia State Patrol helicopters are searching the woods in the area for three individuals who ran away from the scene. The three unknown individuals are not considered suspects but they are wanted for information about the scene.
The police said people gathered in this area before the shooting but they do not know what led to the violence. Coroner Leon Jones confirms that Shawn was declared dead after the deadly shooting.
