Authorities say a toddler and his elder brother, 24, were injured early Thursday after a loaded weapon accidentally went off in their home in Tarrant.
The accidental shooting occurred at about past 1 a.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of Park Avenue. Investigators say the gun was in the possession of the 24-year-old’s waistband while he and the 2-year-old brother were sitting at a close range. The 2-year-old sustained gunshot wounds to the hand and the older brother to the back, according to Tarrant Mayor Wayman Newton.
Four other family members in the residence at the time of the shooting were not injured. This is an active investigation.
