Tributes have been shared in honor of John Carlin:
Jimmy Kimmel wrote; “This good man, who was our friend and co-worker for 19 years, passed away last week. John Carlin was diagnosed with ALS in 2016. Even as he lost basic functions, he never stopped working and never stopped smiling. When speaking about friends we’ve lost, we often mention how well-loved they were by “everyone they met.” John genuinely was. Everyone who knew John – even in passing – felt his kindness, humility and warmth.
“It is hard to put into words what a bright light John was. His loving and excellent family, including his parents Jim and Lynne and his brothers Chris, Patrick and Kevin supported their son and brother in every way. They have asked that donations be made to Mass General in Boston, where great work is being done by many, including John’s beloved Doctor Merit Cudkowicz, to fight and cure ALS.
“We will miss John terribly. Please make a donation to help the brilliant women and men working to end this dreadful disease. Thanks for reading. XO Jimmy”
Earvin Magic Johnson said in a tweet; “RIP to my friend John Carlin! I know John from @JimmyKimmelLive, where he worked for so many years.
