Jamont Mitchell Death – Cause of Death – On Sunday, 21st of November 2021, Jamont Mitchell was killed in a shooting that happened near the 1100 block of Cherokee Road, at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints parking lot. News outlets have revealed that the teenager walked into a local hospital with a gunshot wound on Sunday and later died from his injuries. He was only 17 years old.
The Portsmouth Police Department said they were called to the hospital at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Jamont reportedly had life-threatening injuries when he arrived at the hospital and later passed. According to news outlets, Jamont’s cousin, Traniya Miller, said he was a junior at Indian River High School in Chesapeake and that she was unclear why he was at the church parking lot in Portsmouth.
Investigations are ongoing at the moment to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
