Suffolk County Police Department is probing a double shooting incident near the city’s Cogic Square downtown.
The incident happened at about 3:12 p.m. in the 1100 block of Cogic Square. Arriving officers arrived located two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at the scene, according to Suffolk County Police Department. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene and the second unidentified victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Authorities say the incident is under investigation. No further information was immediately released. The identity of the victims and motive of the shooting are all being investigated currently by the police.
