Donnika Renee Sills Death : Authorities with the Birmingham Police Department are investigating after 30-year-old Donnika Renee Sills of Birmingham, Alabama. was found shot dead at the early hours of Sunday at a nightclub early Sunday morning.
The incident happened at about 3:30 a.m., officers with the North Precinct responded to Empire Gentlemen’s Club in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue North after hearing gunshots fired. Shot Spotter also alerted officers that over 10 rounds were fired in the area. Arriving officers located a victim lying unresponsive on the ground near the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation suggests the shooting may have stemmed from a verbal altercation between the victim and an unknown suspect. No one is in custody at the moment, police said.
