The murder of a husband by his wife, and the approval and support of the victim's brother for that heinous crime that stirred up the Lebanese street, reveal the spread of ignorance and the domination of sick minds and reactionary ideas over a society known for its openness, pluralism, and culture.

On Saturday morning, the Lebanese woke up to an anomaly in criminology, as the young man, Hassan Musa Zaiter, 27, killed his wife, Zainab Ali Zaiter, 26, by firing 10 bullets in her head and killing her in front of her children, according to Lebanese media.

Despite the ugliness of the crime, it appears to be repetitive. However, what is perhaps worse than the murder is the position of the victim’s brother, who considered it a shame washing, which sparked a wave of anger in the street and on the communication sites, especially after it became clear that this shame from the criminals’ point of view is the husband and brother. Finding pictures of the victim without a veil, and how insignificant the minds are!

The victim's neighbors reported that the killer husband committed his heinous crime after finding pictures of his wife on her phone without a veil, but security officials confirmed that the phone disappeared from the crime scene.

And provoked many Lebanese, on social media, by posting a video of the victim's brother opening the door of his brother-in-law's (the killer's) shop, as a sign of agreement and good conditions between them and not seeking revenge, as is customary among the clans of the Lebanese city of Baalbek, and the victim's brother echoed in the video saying: "If only Hassan Moussa did not do it. I was going to do it, because it is an honor to beat.”

Journalist Maryam Saif Al-Din said that the video demeans and insults the judiciary, incites murders, and encourages obliterating the principle of accountability and justice in favor of reactionary tribal values that have no value for women. She added, “It is nice that her three children do not have a daughter,” indicating that there is a mentality that is stigmatized against women.

Another tweet wrote: We did not believe that there are criminals living among us, who did not mention the victim in the video, as if nothing had happened, while Engineer Ziyad considered that the video exposes the state of backwardness and backwardness in its best form.

The Lebanese singers attacked the killer and the victim's brother, describing them as "criminals" for what was covered in the video, which showed the state of stupidity.
