The Governor of Al-Qassim Region, Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, affirmed that the people of this country are recognized for their initiative to do good and benevolence and support the areas of charitable work. This contributed to the development of the resources of the non-profit sector and the achievement of its objectives.
This came during the Emir of Al-Qassim’s weekly session, entitled: “The Impact of Spending on Bringing Blessings.” It was held yesterday evening, at the Tawheed Palace in Buraidah, in the presence of the President of Qassim University, Dr. .
And Amir Al-Qassim said: “We are accustomed in such sessions to shed light and remind you of what is good and the general benefit of society in its religion and world in seasons of goodness, because we see the love of our Saudi society for charitable works, giving and giving.”
He added, "Our wise leadership sets a good example in giving and giving, and urges charity and the doors of goodness, and we thank the Almighty that the generous Saudi society follows the path of its generous leadership in the areas of benevolence and giving, seeking reward and blessing."
And he continued, saying: “We always see the blessing from the spenders and the donors in charitable work, and the impact of spending on health, livelihood, goodness and blessing, because it accrues to the people who give in benefit in this world and the hereafter, and there is charity among society and among the people of the country, and that is an instinct for doing good in anticipation of the reward, as we witness In the people of the Qassim region, the love of goodness and the racing to do good, giving and giving. The session witnessed the participation of Dr. Sahel Al-Otaibi, Professor of Doctrine at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, who praised the Emir of Qassim for choosing this topic in these blessed nights, reviewing the types of giving, righteousness and benevolence, inferring that from the Book and the Sunnah, and the deeds whose benefit is multiple and whose reward increases, especially during the holy month. Fasting and almsgiving are two ways to expiate sins.
The Executive Vice President of the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector, Dr. Abdul Mohsen Al-Turki, praised the support and care of the Emir of Qassim for the non-profit sector in the region, which had a clear impact on the growth of the number of associations and civil funds, which numbered 370 organizations, with a growth rate of 140%. This contributed to the growth of revenues, so that the Qassim region ranked fourth at the level of the Kingdom’s regions, indicating the care given by the wise leadership to the sector based on the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
A faculty member at Qassim University, Dr. Muhammad al-Turki, explained the care that the state attaches to sponsoring charitable spending programs, and ensuring that they reach those who deserve it, reviewing the efforts made in this field.
And the supervisor of the Reform Committee, Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Hasani, explained the Kingdom’s efforts in providing state relief and benevolence to those affected, whether inside or outside the Kingdom, in all Muslim countries.
