Today (Wednesday), the Rapid Support Forces announced the transfer of Egyptian soldiers from the Meroe region to the Sudanese capital, Khartoum. And it stated, in a statement on Twitter, that all Egyptian soldiers are fine, and they will be handed over whenever the opportunity arises. It reassured the families and government of Egypt that the soldiers who were present at the Marawi military base are all well and receiving the necessary care, and that they will be handed over when the appropriate opportunity arises, according to the conditions the country is going through.

The Egyptian military spokesman, Gharib Abdel Hafez, explained (Saturday) that in the context of the presence of joint Egyptian forces to conduct training with their counterparts in Sudan, coordination is underway with the concerned authorities in Sudan to ensure the security of the Egyptian forces. It called on the Egyptian armed forces to maintain the security and safety of the Egyptian forces.

The Rapid Support Forces had published a video clip, which they said was of Egyptian soldiers who "surrendered" to them in the northern city of Meroe.

In the video clip, a number of individuals dressed in military clothing appeared, sitting on the ground, and speaking with members of the Rapid Support Forces in the Egyptian dialect, according to Reuters.
