Today (Tuesday), the Mayon Organization for Human Rights and Development accused the Houthi militia of carrying out a campaign of raids on residential neighborhoods in the city of Ibb, central Yemen, and arresting dozens of activists and youth who participated in the funeral of activist Hamdi Abdul Razzaq Al-Khawlani, known as "Al-Mukhal" a few days ago.
The Mayon organization said in a statement (Okaz obtained a copy of it): “We monitored the arrest of 40 activists, content creators and young men within a few days under a security siege imposed by the Houthi militia on the city of Ibb for the third day in a row, expressing its strong condemnation of these grave violations against civilians.
The organization warned of the danger of Houthi repressive practices to the stability and civil peace of a city that hosts hundreds of thousands of displaced people.
Last Thursday, thousands of Yemenis in Ibb governorate attended, amid a state of rage, the activist Hamdi "Al-Mukhal", who was imprisoned by the militia, demanding the Houthis' departure from their governorate.
