The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture started investing in lands that have deeds in its favour, and paved the way for that by setting controls for investing real estate belonging to it in projects with innovative ideas.
According to the final draft of the controls, projects with innovative ideas are approved in the fields of intellectual property and projects that achieve an investment, developmental, social or economic purpose, and those that achieve an investment purpose other than the project subject of investment, or achieve a developmental or social purpose. The controls disclosed that the concerned department submits a complete vision of the project that meets all requirements according to the request submitted by the authority supervising the site, which includes all requirements and justifications, to obtain the minister’s approval before starting the implementation of the projects to be invested in accordance with these controls.
The controls confirmed that the project is considered an innovative idea if it relies on an idea registered with the competent authority in the field of technology in environmental, water and agricultural projects or is used to achieve food security and achieves an investment purpose. The project is also considered pioneering if it achieves an investment, developmental, social or Economically, and fulfills the conditions for contributing to sustainable development in a specific field or activity, whether in terms of investment, employment, technology, production, environmental service at the level of the region or governorate, or contributes to food security. The Minister determines the target sites for these projects if the project is funded by at least 25% from one of the development funds or government funding programs, and if the project is supportive and achieves the objectives of the Ministry and the requirements are met, provided that the Minister determines the target sites for these projects and that the project contributes to environmental development. And that the project contributes to achieving and raising self-sufficiency in commodities, and that it aims to solve a problem or improve productive efficiency, and that The project provides job opportunities and investment opportunities for a certain category of citizens with agricultural professions and professional certificates, small investors, individuals and people with special needs.
