Under heavy guard by the Israeli occupation forces, groups of extremist settlers stormed today (Sunday) the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, while armed confrontations broke out in the Nur Shams camp, east of Tulkarm, between Palestinians and Israeli forces. The occupation police deployed its members and special units in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa and at its gates, to secure the settlers' incursions.
According to the Islamic Endowments Department in occupied Jerusalem, dozens of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque since morning, carried out provocative tours in its courtyards, and performed Talmudic rituals in the eastern region of it. She explained that the police tightened their procedures at the gates of Al-Aqsa, imposed restrictions on the entry of worshipers, and confiscated the identities of some young men before dawn prayers, which led to tension in the mosque.
Israeli police forces stormed last night and at dawn today the Al-Aqsa Mosque and removed the stationed from it by force after beating them, and arrested a number of them.
The occupation forces prevented worshipers leaving Al-Aqsa Mosque from entering it again.
The Jerusalemites' calls for Rabat in Al-Aqsa Mosque intensified throughout the month of Ramadan, and to confront the settlement and Judaization occupation plans against the mosque and the holy city.
Every day, except for (Friday and Saturday), Al-Aqsa Mosque witnesses a series of violations and incursions by settlers, under the protection of the occupation police, in an attempt to impose full control over the mosque, and divide it temporally and spatially.
In the meantime, armed clashes erupted between the occupation forces and Palestinians after the Israeli occupation forces stormed the Nur Shams camp in the Tulkarem governorate in the West Bank.
According to Palestinian media, the occupation forces surrounded a house in the camp in which a group of resistance fighters were holed up, and deployed snipers on the rooftops of neighboring houses.
The Tulkarem Battalion of Saraya al-Quds, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, said in a statement that its fighters were responding to the occupation's incursion into the al-Mahjar area on the outskirts of the camp, and called on the citizens to take care and caution in order to preserve their lives during the military operation.
In the city of Ramallah in the West Bank, settlers burned a house in the town of Sinjil, and eyewitnesses reported that a group of settlers threw Molotov cocktails at a house in the town.
In Nablus, a number of Palestinians were injured as a result of an attack by a group of settlers in the town of Deir Sharaf, west of the city. The Palestinian Red Crescent said that its crews transported a number of injured people to the hospital for treatment.
