The Minister of Health, Fahd Al Jalajel, sponsored the graduation ceremony of more than 100 male and female family physicians at the Academy of Family Medicine at King Saud Medical City.
The visit witnessed a review of the strategic plan for the city, and the inauguration of a number of development projects, which included the general hospital emergency expansion project, the digital operations department, the laboratory department, the sterilization department, pediatric intensive care, and neonatal intensive care.
The emergency expansion project is based on increasing the capacity for emergencies by about 28%, and the digital operations center is expected to conduct about 18,000 operations annually, while the main hall project includes rehabilitation and equipping it with the latest technology, with a capacity of more than 540 seats.
It is noteworthy that King Saud Medical City recorded in 2022 more than half a million appointments in its clinics, more than 140,000 visits in emergency departments, performed more than 17,000 surgeries, and served more than 30,000 patients in inpatient departments, while benefiting from Medical rehabilitation services more than 121 thousand patients.
