Yesterday, the Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing, Al-Majid Al-Hogail, reviewed the most prominent projects being implemented in Jeddah Governorate, during his visit to the Jeddah Municipality, during which he met with the Mayor of Jeddah, Saleh Al-Turki, and witnessed the signing of an agreement in the field of recycling construction and demolition waste.
Minister Al-Hogail met, at the outset of the visit, with the leadership and officials of the Municipality, and was briefed on the budget, organizational structure, human cadres and operational model.
The meeting witnessed a review of the most prominent achievements, targets and projects to be implemented during the next year, in addition to discussing the challenges and ways to address them. After that, he listened to the presentation submitted by the Jeddah Development and Urban Regeneration Company on its projects and investment plans.
Al-Hogail witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Sustainability Solutions Company and Al-Fahhad Company, which aims to supply quantities of treated soil resulting from the recycling of demolition, construction and other waste, for the purpose of using it in the project to cover cells 1, 2, and 3 in the landfill in Wadi Asla.
After that, Minister Al-Hogail visited the Municipality’s control center and was briefed on its services, objectives, tasks, and the system that he works on, which includes: “the cleaning system”, which includes the Madinaty platform, vehicle tracking systems (avl), the cleanliness monitor system, the decision-maker support system, and the smart landfill system In addition to the “road system” that includes a paving system, an asphalt paving system (PMMS), an excavation permit system, a lighting control system, a SCADA system to control lift stations and operate rainwater drainage pumps, and a platform for controlling city services, in addition to other services provided by it. The center is within the electronic control systems.
The tour of the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs included a visit to the headquarters of the Jeddah Transportation Company, during which he was briefed on the developments of the public transport project; Which aims to provide comprehensive coverage by transport buses for all neighborhoods of Jeddah Governorate through an advanced network and integrated systems of parking stations, as well as express transport services, sea taxis and other investment projects that Jeddah Transport is working to put forward. Minister Al-Haqil's tour also included an inspection visit to the waterfront development project. Baobhur, which is being implemented on an extension of 2.5 km and an area of 180 thousand square meters, with a value of more than 229 million riyals, and will add tourism value to the bride of the Red Sea, as it will provide squares, recreational areas, sandy beaches, a walkway and green spaces, in addition to providing many attractive investment opportunities.
Al-Hogail concluded his visit by inspecting the marina of the Municipality of Jeddah, to see the tasks of the newly established Maritime Supervision Agency, and he also toured Sharm Obhur.
