Mark Wallace Cause of death, JACKSONVILLE, Fla: Mark Wallace, 50-year-old, executive vice president of CSX and chief of staff for Harrison at three railroads passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. CSX announced his death on their Facebook official page on Monday, November 29, 2021, expressing their sadness saying he helped set the course toward achieving a revolutionary vision for CSX.

He joined the railroad during Hunter Harrison’s tenure as CEO after serving as Harrison’s chief of staff at both Canadian National and Canadian Pacific. In the spring of 2017, he joined CSX as executive vice president of corporate affairs and chief of staff. He became a contributor to CSX’s transformation to an operating model that delivers best-in-class safety performance, customer service, and shareholder value. with his experience and Knowledge, he helped in addressing challenges and laying the foundation for CSX to capitalize on new opportunities.

In July 2018, he was named executive vice president of sales and marketing, and delivered strategies that advanced the CSX sales and marketing organization from being a service provider to a proactive supply chain partner. And he moved into a strategic advisory role as he underwent cancer treatment in June 2021, .
