The child support line, Okaz, reported a decrease in reports of violence against children during the holy month of Ramadan. The line attributed this to the preoccupation of parents and children alike with schoolwork during the holy month, in addition to the change in sleeping hours and working hours. Line explained
The topics of problems mentioned in Ramadan are not different from other months, as psychological and social health, abuse, violence and legal problems still occupy the most problems of the child support line, especially in the morning period.
It is noteworthy that the child helpline is responsible for issuing monthly statistical reports dealing with the most important issues of incoming calls, counting calls and their classifications, the caller's gender and age, in order to find out the results and work on them later through the awareness and introductory campaigns of the helpline and the training courses provided to the employees, which would improve and develop the services provided to the callers. .
For her part, the family therapist, PhD researcher Wafaa Azhar, attributed the decrease in cases of violence against children in Ramadan to the cohesion of family ties and the continuity of meetings and gatherings between them in the holy month, as souls calm down, hearts become happy, and resentment decreases, which helps reduce violence cases, increase awareness of responsibility towards children, and activate dialogue. Through the family and family gatherings that take place in Ramadan, what increases the familiarity, closeness and kinship between families. In addition to the duties that wives undertake in preparing breakfast, organizing the house, and caring for children, "all of this reflects positively on husbands, which contributes to raising appreciation and decreasing anger."
