Authorities say a person is dead and two others hospitalized following a shooting at a basketball game in Tennessee high school Tuesday night.
“We know of one who was deceased, and another was flown to The Med in Memphis and was in surgery last I heard.” He added that others were injured but that none of those injuries were life-threatening.

Officials with the Humboldt Police Department responded to an active shooter report at about 8:30 p.m. at Humboldt High School. Officers and agents from Humboldt, Gibson County Sheriff, Medina Police, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation responded to the scene. A perceived altercation between two adults escalated to shots being fired, the department says.
The school was placed on Lockdown and classes were shifted to Thursday for all Humboldt schools. A person of interest was taken into custody from the scene. No motive was immediately released by the department.
