Tables turn as Uber driver fatally shoots two robbery suspects
Philly Police say a Philadelphia Uber driver shot and killed two armed of three armed in Mayfair neighborhood area Sunday night.
The incident happened in the city’s Mayfair neighborhood, surveillance footage shows the unidentified driver was parking his vehicle when three unidentified suspects ran up to him and attempted to rob him. The Uber driver then fired multiple shots at the suspects, who the fled the scene, reports say.
Two of the suspects in their 20s where struck by the gunfire. One was pronounced dead at the scene and the second was transported to the Jefferson Torresdale hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The third suspect remains at large.
Officials with the Philly Police say the driver has a valid license to carry a firearm and was not injured in the shooting. It is unknown at this time if charges will be filed.
