William Tripp Cause of Death: William Tripp, 71-year-old, of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, died after he was shot in the head by a juvenile related on Saturday, November 27, 2021. The first day of deer hunting season in Pennsylvania was off to a tragic start. The incident took place on the first day of the deer hunting season while he was hunting on a gas line off of Buckhorn Road in Jackson Township, Tripp died at the scene.
According to sources he was hunting with a group of family and friends along a gas line off Buckhorn Road in Jackson Township on Saturday, November 27, 2021, when he was killed around 10 a.m. The child mistakenly shot Tripp when trying to aim at a deer but missed. Tripp was approximately 300 yards away from the child when he was hit. According to an autopsy on Sunday it was confirmed that the manner of his death was accidental.
Nancy Scaife Kuftic in a Facebook post on Monday, November 29, 2021, said she was shocked to learn that one of her classmate at high school died tragically, the first day of deer season. “I was shocked to learn that one of my dear HS classmates died tragically in a hunting accident on Saturday, the first day of deer season. RIP William Tripp.”
Investigation about the shooting is still ongoing by the State police and the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
