The Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council vowed today (Sunday) to take all necessary measures to protect public interests, deter terrorist organizations, move forward on the path of comprehensive reforms, and support the legitimate aspirations of Yemenis in areas controlled by the Houthi militia by force, condemning the Houthi escalation in the governorates of Marib and Shabwa and the failed terrorist attacks in Taiz Governorate.
In a statement, following a meeting chaired by its president, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, the council considered the escalation that Al-Houthi reflects the miserable situation that this terrorist organization has reached in its hostile approach to peace efforts, and its evasion of the fair entitlements of millions of Yemenis who demand freedom, equal citizenship, and opportunities for a decent life in the areas under its control, calling for The international community should realize the seriousness of this terrorist escalation and its devastating repercussions on international peace and security.
The Council welcomed the results of the recent meetings led by the United Nations, in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross, to implement the prisoner exchange agreement, stressing in this context the need to ensure that the militia fulfills its obligations to complete releases on time, and to enable mediators and the government team to reach all detainees in its prisons. Unconditionally.
The Council directed the government to complete the implementation of its previous relevant decisions and orders, including improving the efficiency of ports, airports, and land outlets, providing all facilities for the movement of individuals, goods, and private sector activities, and redoubling efforts to secure basic services, primarily electricity, and adequate Ramadan catering needs, following He listened to reports from the members of the council, Abdul Rahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and Tariq Saleh, and a briefing from the Prime Minister, Dr. Maeen Abdul-Malik, on the economic and living conditions.
This coincided with a meeting held by Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdul-Malik with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, the Presidency of the General Staff and the Support and Support Command, to discuss field and military developments in light of recent developments.
The meeting reviewed the Ministry of Defense's plan to coordinate the work of the axes and fronts in a unified joint operations room along the liberated areas, in addition to the logistical needs to maintain military readiness, in implementation of the directives of the Presidential Command Council, noting the steps taken to implement the government's program to build a strong army on institutional and professional bases, and to neutralize The army and security institutions for political conflicts.
The Prime Minister was briefed by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, the Chief of the General Staff, Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, and the Commander of the Support and Support Forces of the Arab Coalition, Major General Sultan Al-Baqami, on the results of the field visits that they carried out to a number of combat fronts, military areas and axes in Marib, Al-Mahra, Socotra and the western coast.
